Amber Showers- Owner/Instructor
My name is Amber Showers and I am a mother of 5, and a 2005 Bellefontaine High School graduate. I was a cheerleader for 5 years and took dance and tumbling classes at Liles School of Dance in Bellefontaine for 14 years. I have helped with Little Chiefs and Junior Chiefs for 6 years and have choreographed their dance routines. After graduating I became the choreographer for Team Spirit cheer team where I met my former dance partner and together we opened a dance studio in Bellefontaine in 2009. I have owned and operated Dance Fuzion Studio in Bellefontaine for 12 years now, starting our 13th season. i also opened a second location in Kenton and Ada in 2014-2016 but decided to close and focus on Bellefontaine location. I continue my dance education by attending master dance classes at the Dance Teacher Summit NYC or Long BEACH every summer with top choreographers like Bob Rizzo, dENISE WALL, TRAVIS WALL, Mandy Moore, Wade Robson and the late Frank Hatchett AND GREGG RUSSELL. I have received certification in Acrobatic arts as well as the Dance Teacher University through UNLV. I have taken my students to perform at Disneyland, Disney World, ABC Christmas Parade, Orange Bowl Halftime with GooGoo Dolls and Train, on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines, Harlem Globetrotters Halftime and many regional and National Dance Competitions. I believe that dance teaches self discipline and boost self confidence. I love being a dance teacher because I get to share my love of dance with others and inspire them to follow their dreams.
Sarah Chavez- instructor
Hello, my name is Sarah Chavez and this is my second year at DFS! I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, a BFA graduate of University of Missouri-Kansas City Dance and Choreography program, and have just moved to Ohio from Houston, TX. I have been dancing since age 5 - my first love was ballet, but I have trained in many styles including contemporary, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, and acro/contortion! I have danced professionally with Quixotic Cirque Nouveau, Worlds of Fun Theme Park Entertainment, Houston Contemporary Dance, and am headed into my first season with Whirlwind Contemporary Dance. I have had the pleasure to train with amazing teachers and choreographers across the country, and am so excited to share my knowledge and joy with your dancers!
Tori blanks- instructor
Hi, I’m Tori! I was born in California and moved to Ohio in 2010. I graduated from Indian Lake High School and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in 2022. I am a licensed cosmetologist and currently work at a local salon in Bellefontaine. I’ve been a dancer at heart for as long as I can remember. I started dance classes at the age of six and haven’t stopped since. Throughout my dance journey, I have trained in and taught various styles, including ballet, pointe, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, tumbling, acro, and cheer. I also competed with DFS for four years, participating in groups, duets, trios, and solos. Since the age of 15, I have had the opportunity to help around the studio, and that experience made me realize that I wanted to continue my passion for dance by teaching others. I have earned my Dance Teacher University certification through UNLV, and I have continued to expand my dance education by traveling to Las Vegas, New York, New Jersey, and Chicago to learn from some of the top performers and educators in the dance industry. It is a privilege to build relationships with each of my dancers and watch them grow into the best dancers and people they can be. Dance Fuzion has always felt like another home to me, and I hope it can become a home for you, too. I’m so excited to see what this season has in store for all of us at DFS!
Olivia Leeper- instructor
My name is Olivia. I'm 25, and I also work full time as an aide at Parkway Elementary. I grew up in Ansonia, OH and currently live in Van Wert, OH. I'll be getting married in October of 2026, so my name will soon change to Olivia Winters. I've been dancing at Barbara Rethlake Dance Studio in Greenville, OH since the 2005/2006 season. I have over 20+ years of dance experience. I've danced in about every style you can think of; jazz, hip hop, swing, line dancing, salsa, hula, ballet, tap, funk tap, lyrical, ballet, and pointe ballet, to name a few. I student taught for Ms. Barbara for one year in high school and choreographed a few numbers for myself in recent years. I'm so excited to begin my dance teaching journey with you all! I have so many fun ideas, and I can't wait to help everyone reach their full dance potentials!
Maverick Jacob - Instructor
Maverick is a choreographer focused on cheer, hip hop, and musical theater. His choreography often mixes styles to create meaningful and engaging performances. Maverick has over 10 years of experience working with teams from elementary to the collegiate level spanning across the Miami Valley. Throughout his career Maverick has continued to learn new styles and techniques that he looks forward to teaching in his classes. Maverick is ecstatic to join the directing team at Dance Fuzion Studio this upcoming season!!
Ashley Balay - Instructor
My Name is Ashley. I’m an aerialist who has loved movement since I was a child. I took ballet classes from the ages of 3-11, before switching to Taekwondo, which I studied until obtaining by Black Belt. I was fascinated by circus performers and aerialists as a teenager, and in 2021, after struggling to find a form of movement that held my attention as an adult, I decided to take a chance and give aerial a try. I fell in love instantly and have dabbled in a variety of apparatuses over the years (Aerial Hoop, Sling, Silks, Cube, Corde Lisse, Rope, Lollipop, Loops). While I love the opportunity for exploration, Aerial Hoop has remained my love. I’ve performed Hoop and Lollipop publicly at both events and in circus productions. I’ve also sought out aerial teaching certifications. Finding aerial as an adult reignited a lost love of movement and sparked an interest in fitness and personal training, with the goal of making movement accessible for as many people as possible. Teaching has been one of my longterm goals as I’ve trained and, as a Children’s Librarian by career, working with kids is a natural fit. I’m excited to share this art form that I love with others and grateful for this opportunity!
Sarah Woodcok- Instructor
My name is Sarah, I will be instructing the Color Guard class here at DFS. I am a 2007 graduate from Indian Lake High School, and currently live in Bellefontaine. I was in the High School Color Guard all 4 years of high school and have been the Guard director at Indian Lake Schools for almost 20 years! In addition to being the Marching Band Color Guard director, I also created a successful Indoor Winter Guard program at Indian Lake that have won numerous competitions over the past 10 years, as well as finishing in the top 5 in the state championships several times! I also started a Middle School Winter Guard and an elementary guard to help grow the program at the school. I am currently a 2nd grade educational aide at Indian Lake Elementary. I also enjoying baking and decorating cakes and other sweets in my spare time. I have 5 children and 2 dogs. My daughter, is a dancer at DFS, and I love the connection she has with the instructors here, and I feel like this is the perfect place to share my passion of instructing young students the fun of spinning flags!
MEGHAN WILLIAMS- OFFICE MANAGER/MARKETING DIRECTOR
MEGHAN GREW UP in NORTHEST OHIO, AND RECIEVED A DREGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE FROM BOWLING GREEN. SHE MOVED TO THE AREA IN 2006, WHERE SHE WORKED IN THE it INDUSTRY FOR 13 YEARS. SHE HAS BEEN MARRIED TO HER HUSBAND JUSTIN SINCE 2007, AND TOGETHER THEY HAVE TWO GIRLS WHO BOTH DANCE. IN HER SPARE TIME SHE ENJOYS CRAFTING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND PLAYING WITH HER DOGS.
